Updated Breakdown of City Revenue: 2015 v 2022 v 2024
After writing this blog post, I realized this isn’t their entire revenue, just the revenue under the general fund. There are 6 other main revenue categories that the City of Arlington tracks.
A couple days ago I created some treemaps displaying the breakdown of city revenue.
My choice of treemaps made it a little hard to see the correct percentage of each revenue category.
So I redid them with a barplot.
The first is the revenue in 2015:
Then the revenue from 2022:
Then the estimated revenue for 2024:
These graphs make it much easier to see that the percentage of city revenue coming from Property Taxes increased abou 8% over 10 years.
- 2015 - 37%
- 2022 - 41%
- 2024 - 45% (estimated)
Seeing the data, the 2022 => 2024 is actually a higher increase, that’s 2% each year.
All for now.
